ADI GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION INC. (ADIG)
ADI Global Distribution is a global wholesale distributor of low-voltage products that supplies security systems, fire detection, audio-visual equipment, access control, and smart living solutions to professional installers and contractors. The company operates as the distribution arm behind some of the industry’s best-known brands, connecting manufacturers with the installation professionals who integrate these products into commercial buildings, homes, and security infrastructure. Planned as a spin-off from Resideo Technologies, ADI is positioning itself for independent public trading on the NYSE under the ticker ADIG in mid-2026.
The distributor’s reach spans a global footprint with operations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. ADI maintains a portfolio of over 500,000 professionally installed products across its core specialty categories, serving both commercial and residential markets. The company owns and operates several proprietary technologies and exclusive brands—including Control4 for smart home control, OvrC for cloud-based management, Araknis Networks for networking infrastructure, and WattBox for power distribution and protection—which give it leverage beyond basic distribution into higher-margin services and technology.
ADI describes itself as “the leading global wholesale distributor of low-voltage products, including security and audio-visual solutions,” a position built on decades of consolidation in the specialty distribution space.
In its most recent fiscal year, ADI generated approximately $4.5 billion in net revenue with a 7.5% adjusted EBITDA margin, demonstrating the economics typical of mature specialty distribution: steady, large-scale operations with modest but consistent profitability. The company serves a professional customer base—large contractors, system integrators, and resellers who require regional availability, bulk ordering, technical support, and access to a broad product ecosystem. Unlike mass-market retail, ADI operates on a B2B membership model where prospective customers register and maintain accounts for ongoing purchases.
The planned separation reflects a strategic shift at Resideo, which acquired ADI when Honeywell spun off its home control and security businesses in 2018. As an independent entity, ADI will focus entirely on the wholesale and distribution side of the security and AV market, without the competing pressures of Resideo’s residential security services business. The separation is expected to close between mid-third and mid-fourth quarter 2026, after which ADI will operate as a standalone public company with its own capital structure and strategic direction.
